Ben Williams was born and raised in Moorhead, and is a fourth generation Fargo-Moorhead community resident. His parents are small business owners in Moorhead, which instilled Ben with a desire to help people confront business related issues.

Ben focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including representing both companies and individuals in contract, construction, real estate, trade secret, collection, and other business related disputes. He successfully represents both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court actions, arbitrations, and mediations.

Before joining Kennelly Business Law, Ben was a shareholder at a large Fargo law firm, where he practiced for seven years in the areas of commercial litigation, construction litigation, and general civil litigation.

Ben graduated cum laude with distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif for finishing in the top ten percent of his class. During law school, Ben served as the Outside Articles Editor for the North Dakota Law Review. His published article, “The United States Supreme Court Revisits the Pleading Standard Under Bell Atlantic Corp. v. Twombly, Making Surviving a Motion to Dismiss More Difficult,” 86 N.D. L. Rev. 383 (2010), won the North Dakota Bar Foundation’s award for Most Outstanding Student Article. Ben was also selected for an externship with Judges of the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota.

Ben resides in Moorhead with his wife, Andrea, and daughter, Katherine. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, following all Minnesota professional sports teams, golfing, and traveling.
